Signs that an Infection May Have Evolved into an Abscess
If left untreated, a tooth infection can become an abscess. Some warning signs include tender gums, a hot sensation, swelling and difficulty chewing without pain. It is therefore important to see a dentist immediately.
What are some other differences between an infection and an abscess?
– An abscess is the result of an infection.
– Some people may experience very few symptoms.
– A root canal can be used to halt the infection.
“When the infection spreads to the jaw bone at the tip of your tooth, an abscess forms and generally tends to be swollen and painful.”
