When Is It Okay To Call An Emergency Dentist Didsbury

With medical problems it’s relatively easy to know what constitutes a medical emergency, but when it comes to dental issues, the line is a little more blurred. If for example you’re experiencing issues with your Botox treatment Manchester or dental implants Manchester is it okay to contact your emergency dentist Didsbury? Or how about if you’ve just lost a crown or filling, should you call the dental emergency number then? Let’s take a closer look.

Accidents can happen at any time of the day or night and while some might require immediate treatment, others can wait until normal dental practice hours are resumed. For example, if you’ve experienced a badly cracked or broken tooth or had teeth which have been completely knocked out, then this would constitute a dental emergency. Alternatively if you have in the past undergone treatment for a dental implant in Manchester and have lost a crown, then this is unlikely to warrant a call to your emergency dentist in
Didsbury at 4am. Likewise if you’ve bitten into something and have experienced a slightly chipped tooth or a minor tooth fracture, then you should of course seek advice from your dentist at the earliest opportunity, but only during normal practice opening hours.

Sometimes the issue isn’t as clear cut as a knocked out tooth or loose crown. What about if you experience tooth pain? As a general rule of thumb, if the pain can be brought under relative control using over-the-counter pain killers such as Aspirin or Nurofen then make an appointment for first thing in the morning. However if you are experiencing excruciating pain or any form of dental bleeding then you should contact an emergency dentist right away. They will take a look and decide what to do about it there and then. It may mean an immediate extraction, or it might involve a simple temporary filling until they can sort it out properly during practice opening hours.

What about Botox problems?

Experiencing problems after having botox treatment Manchester is exceptionally rare especially if you use a qualified technician. However if something does go wrong it can in certain cases be quite serious. One problem that can occur particularly when injecting dermal filler is a vascular occlusion. This is basically a blockage of the blood vessel and can lead to strokes and heart attacks. If you experience any ongoing pain after having Botox or fillers then this is classed as a medical emergency rather than a dental emergency. As such you should make your way to the nearest A&E department as soon as possible.

As you can see, if you’re suffering from uncontrollable pain, bleeding, or missing teeth due to a accident or a blow to the face, then you should contact your emergency dentist Didsbury right away. However if your crown has become loose after having dental implants Manchester, or your filling has fallen out, then yes you should seek dental advice at your earliest convenience, but it doesn’t really constitute a dental emergency.
