Dental Implants
A dental implant is commonly used to replace a missing tooth. The implant is a post embedded into the jaw and capped with a dental crown. When you don’t get a tooth replaced, there is an adverse affect on the jawbone which supports:
– Teeth
– Gums
– Connective tissue
Implants support the jawbone and stimulate it to maintain its function of keeping the teeth and gums healthy. The implants are “designed to last a lifetime” and are suitable for almost everyone with some exceptions. A dentist might not install implants in patients with gum disease or who lack sufficient jawbone. Read more on this topic at https://yourdentalhealthresource.com/dental-implants/.
