If you’ve been scheduled to have periodontal surgery, here are a few things you should bear in mind.
– Your dentist will perform a deep cleaning of teeth and gums.
– You will be under local anaesthesia for the duration of the procedure.
– The surgeon will lift tissue around the gum line to facilitate further cleaning, reshaping, or regeneration procedures.
Tissue is then stitched back and you’ll need to follow any post-op instructions given by your dentist before returning for a routine check-up within 2 weeks of surgery.
