Why You Should Not Kiss Your Child’s Lips
Recent studies reveal that kissing your baby on the lips before teeth erupt might spread harmful bacteria. Here are the disadvantages of kissing your infant or toddler on the lips.
Main points:
– Your baby’s teeth are not yet strong enough to resist effects of bacteria, thus they are more susceptible to oral infections.
– Saliva transfer from adult to child could spread bacteria and cause flu or colds, cold sores and Herpes simplex virus-1.
– Store your baby’s toothbrushes separately and discourage sugar intake.
Take your child to the dentist for checkups.
