Zygomatic Implants: What exactly are they?
Zygomatic implants are rigid, long, and specially-designed implants which fix directly into the dense zygomatic bone – the upper jawbone that forms the cheek.
Unlike natural jawbone, the zygomatic bone doesn’t resorb. As a result, longer angled zygomatic implants allow severe bone loss patients to benefit from a fixed prosthesis which can be fitted straight after implant placement surgery.
Typically, our team at Cheadle Hulme Dental and Cosmetics will use two zygomatic implants in addition to 2-4 conventional implants to hold a fixed denture, but if the bone is extremely limited, then we can use up to 4.
Why should you consider zygomatic implants?

I have been going to Cheadle Hulme Dental for several years. I first registered with them for cosmetic work but now I also attend for general dental care. All the dentists are very experienced and always welcoming, and they adhere to a high standard of care. They give lots of useful advice and the treatments are always pain free. From the exterior of the building to first entering, my initial reaction was WOW. This is not like any dental practice I've ever been to. As soon as I approached the desk I was greeted by 2 lovely ladies, both smiling and a lovely welcome. Not quiet what you get when you go into some practices. So straight away I felt so at ease. Taking in the decor and surroundings, it is beautiful and spotlessly clean. I was so nervous about going to see about teeth whitening, but as soon as I met Dr Karim and his wonderful friendly staff, all the worry disappeared. I was made to feel like I already knew them as they asked about me personally and not just trying to push a hard sell. All of the staff were so lovely and kind and explained what the treatment would entail in easy to understand language. I first used the practice to discuss an all on four procedure. The initial consultation was excellent and I proceeded with the work which involved extensive bone grafting and eventually an all on six full top set. Over the course of 12 months the whole procedure took place in carefully arranged stages. After 18 months the new teeth are fantastic and I am delighted with the work done. I had my first visit today for an initial consultation. I liked the style and decor of the practice, the staff were friendly and welcoming. I felt comfortable in my consultation and was given all the information I needed for the treatment I was interested in. Everything was explained in detail. The consultant offered her contact number should I have any queries and wanted to message her at a later date, I thought this was kind. I also managed to book my first appointment in a couple of weeks which means I do not have to wait for a long time, this is appreciated. I haven’t had my treatment yet but so far so good.

My first experience of the practise was fantastic - I had a thorough consultation X-rays and a scan of my teeth . I chose to join CH dentistry because I had read good reports about their work and care of their patients - something that sadly my NHS dentist of 11 years had started to fall back on! I’m a newcomer to Cheadle Dental & Cosmetics when recommended to me. My first thought when entering was how different it was to my previous dental practice. The staff were extremely welcoming offering tea, coffee, and chilled water. The dentist, dental assistant, and hygienist were lovely, talking me through their process. I was first taken for a scan of my teeth which I was shocked that they did that as I’d never experienced that before. They explained they can use it to model braces and the dentists can view your teeth. The service I received was incomparable to previous dental practices. The caring staff, cleanliness of the place, and great work was superb, I won’t be changing to another practice. I would recommend anyone to switch to this team, the checkup itself was so much longer and in-depth than any I’ve had before.

Upon my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised, felt very comfortable, didn't feel clinical, was greeted very politely by the receptionist.
