My name is Natalie. I'm one of the hygienists at Church Road, and you will find me here on a Monday and a Wednesday
It is thought that about 40% of adults have periodontitis (gum disease), many won't even realise.
My role involves screening for, treating, and helping to prevent gum disease.
The biggest part of treating and preventing the disease is having a good oral hygiene routine- I work with patients to tailor a brushing and cleaning routine that is effective and suits them.
Once a good routine is established treatment can begin. This involves thorough cleaning of the tooth, root, and periodontal pocket, and may take place over a number of appointments.
I really enjoy working as a hygienist as I have the opportunity to meet and help people. I also like being part of the team, as I work closely with the dentists, nurses, practice manager, and reception staff.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking, as I live in Disley and have the beautiful Lyme Park right on my doorstep. I also have started to run. I have taken part in three 10ks so far, and hope to eventually progress to half marathons.
Hi, I'm Rachael and I am a qualified Dental Hygienist and Therapist. I love to provide oral health education to my patients and assist in maintaining healthy gums and a healthy smile. I particularly enjoy educating children on their dental health, and motivating all my patients while tailoring treatment to their individual needs. I am also able to undertake fillings as a therapist and continually want to develop my skills. In my free time I enjoy squash, trekking and swimming, and my goal is to swim across Lake Windermere. I look forward to meeting you soon.
