You are at a higher risk of teeth loss if you are a male smoker. High blood pressure, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and poor oral hygiene also increase your risk of tooth loss.
So, what can you do?
– Practice oral hygiene at home and regularly visit the dentist for checkups and cleaning.
– Eat teeth-healthy meals with calcium, fats and vitamins and cut off foods with excessive sugars and acid.
– Quit smoking.
– Minimise alcohol intake to prevent cavities, gum disease and staining.
Brush and floss at least twice daily and make regular appointments with your dentist.
