According to a recent article the answer is Yes! Research suggests that mucus from the lining of the mouth, lungs, intestines and cervix contains a mixture of proteins that can protect your teeth and possibly inhibit cavities from developing. Scientists are now examining the possibility of developing a synthetic mucus and it is envisaged that it would be added to various products including:

– Toothpaste

– Mouthwash

– Chewing gum
