Can Children Get Gum Disease?
Children can develop gum disease just the same as adults:
– Signs of gum disease include bleeding, red, sensitive or swollen gums.
– The main cause of gum disease is poor oral hygiene, but some conditions can increase the likelihood of developing gum disease such as Down’s Syndrome and Type 1 Diabetes.
– Taking your child for regular check-ups at the dentist can keep their teeth and gums healthy and help prevent gum disease.
